System Requirements

Requires as least one ripper and one converter and -optionally- xmcd for CDDB lookups and one ID3 tagging tool.

Software Description

Dekagen is an interactive shell script that automates the whole process of ripping data from music compact discs (CD), the naming of the files, their converting into MP3 or Ogg-Vorbis format and the labelling of the MP3 files with an ID3 tag. It is a frontend to programs like cdparanoia, cdda2wav, dagrab, lame, or oggenc.

Provides both, manual and, using xmcd, automatic file naming. Dekagen uses dialog for a user interface that is intended to be "intuitive".

New in this version

  • Fixed re-setting of encoder=none and ripper=none to defaults when re-starting dekagen.
