This is actually a bigger deal than just downloading some software. You want to eliminate as much noise as possible, too. You need an 1/8" to RCA, stereo, shielded cable. Don't lay the cable parallel to other cables, particularly the power cable. Don't use the computer for any other purpose while you're recording. You need to blast the recording level up high. And then when it's all done, you have to go and manually remove the remaining noise with your software.
