i lost all my 6500mp3s in a windoze fault.. sumhow chkdsk found them as errors and i was left with fileXXX.chk.
i got a file renamer, changed them to .mp3s..
then ran this program on the folder, and most of the mp3s got renamed, the others just didnt have id3 tags..

fkn excellent program. does EXACTLY what it says and its PISS easy to use. thanks dudes!
