Converting Midi files

Dear Anyone.
I know (or at least, I've been told) that you can't convert Midi to MP3, because they're two different filetypes. Is there a workaround on this? I use Voyetra Music Write and a mouse to make music - can't afford keyboards! It can save in MIDI type 1 and type 0 formats, as well as its own .MWK format. Is there something out there that can save it to an intermediate format that can then be resaved as an MP3, or any workaround like that? There must surely be a workaround, I can't believe all composers have software that saves as a socking great .WAV file on hard drive! (I can't even find any software that lets me use a mouse and will save as a .WAV file!)
HELP!!

Hello,

The same company, Voyetra, sells a product callled Record Producer Delux. it is capable of converting from and to many formats, including mp3. The cost is $59.95 as an upgrade.

Re: Converting Midi files

I know this won't help if you are using a Windows machine but iTunes on the Mac will convert midi files into MP3 and AIFF formats. And it's free. I would also like to know of a Windows app since I am converting to Windows soon.
