A new chapter in the Napster sue files Napster is in the news again, or should we say still. It is becoming quite apparent that Napster enjoys it's tug-of-war with the law and have recently added another chapter to their legal battles that has to be worthy of a mention. Napster are of course still defending itself in the well publicized lawsuit filed by the music industry against alleged copyright infringements from late 1999. To show that they too can sue with the best of them they recently opened a suit against ecommerce site, 'NapsterStore.com'. Napster are taking the company to court over an alleged illegal use of their logo, and for sporting the claims on their front page of supplying 'Official Napster apparel'. This suit comes after an incident with famous pop/punk group Offspring last year. In that ruling Napster didn't quite get their way, agreeing to join forces in the enterprise and donate all profits to charity. |
