Thank you for contacting SONY.
OpenMG version 2.2 is only needed for users that have Windows XP. For
Windows 2000, 98, and Win ME please use the OpenMG version 2.0.
Running the uninstall from add/remove programs will not delete the
songs on the PC. When the install is started and "Database found"
message displays select do not delete to save the music files already
imported or recorded into OpenMG. When the software installs there
should not be a problem transferring the album/track information to
the portable player.

question: When I upgraded to openmg 2.2 from 1.2 the song title/artist
info does
not transfer to the ms-nw7. I see the info in openmg but not on the
nw-ms7 screen. It worked when I used 1.2. I've tried converting to
ID3V0 tags and even cd's recorded by openmg using cddb2 for titles
does not work. Please help, I have spent a month trying to fix this
myself.
