1. Do you truly mean that the files on your "audio cd" are in wav format - and not in cda (and therefore you cannot play these CDs in a standard CD player)?? However, if you really have standard CDs (cda files), most rippers let you automatically rip to MP3 (instead of wav or wma) so you don't have to subsequently convert the files. 2. If they really are wav files, there are several free utilites that will batch convert them to MP3 format. I like Music Match Jukebox and use its batch conversion a lot - but you find lots of others free ones by Googling. 3. Put the MP3 files that you want to rename into a unique folder. 4. You could create a DOS bat file to automatically rename them. See http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/13575/ehg.hitbox.com for an easy example. 5. If your OS is Windows you could also use Irfanview to batch rename them. Bill : Anybody know of a command line type script that would rip wav from an audio cd to mp3? Be great if it could name each file with date/time stamp.
