can't record downloaded music files onto my MD

Hi I have downloaded some music tracks using Kazza Lite and although I have no problem importing the files onto my music drive (using sonicstage software) when I come to check the tracks out onto my MD it only records about 1 second of each track. Has anyone got any ideas?
