I had this same problem and fixed it by doing the following: Click on the Settings Tab in the upper right hand corner of the WinMX window.. (In between Help, and Ignored. Once on Settings, click on the Setup Wizard. It will ask you a question about clearing all current settings before proceeding. Click yes. No files or anything important will be lost. Go through the setup process, and let WinMX reconfigure itself to your computer. Everything should be fine after you do this.
