Magic star mp3 player WMA problem

I have a magic star mp3 player (probably 1004) and the WMA tracks are hacking... if i copy a mp3 track on it, it works ok , but when i cinvert that mp3 to wma (easy cd ripper, windows media player everything) the track is hacking... why??
