:However, this solution does not work for :"Car Talk" as Audible does not allow this :to be burned to CD at all (why, I do not know). There is actually a cheaper way to get Car Talk that works with most of Audible's NPR offerings. You can get Real Media broadcasts of the show from http://www.cartalk.com/Radio/Show/online.html You can capture the RealMedia streams with StreamBox VCR. Use your favorite file sharing application to get the "hacked" version that doesn't check for authorization to save the file to disk. Technically, it records in real time, but NPR uses multiple files for each show, so you can queue them all up at once and saturate your download bandwidth. For example, I listen to NPR by firing up StreamBoz VCR, and importing a text file listing all the individual streams. I don't even need to check their web site, as they use a consistent format for all the file names. I just assume a max of 30 possible segments and follow the pattern. (Streambox VCR deals with a 404 on the stream nicely) I then copy the files to my MiniDisk player using version 10 of the free RealPlayer (They've removed all the annoying crap that bothered me about RealPlayer. It's a well behaved program again.) Works nicely
