WAV is not just a simple format. It's actually a container, like AVI. A WAV doesn't necessarily have to be uncompressed (PCM) audio. It could be MP3, AIFF, who knows....

Your copy of RazorLame has Lame with it already if it is working at all. And I it's probably working perfectly. You see, Lame only supports PCM-WAV and MP3 input.

So... use RazorLame to encode all your PCM WAV's to MP3.
For the WAV's that don't work... they're obviously not PCM WAV's, so try using a program called dbPowerAmp to do the conversion.
