Thanks for your advice Michael. Unfortunately OSS ruined some dlls from my System folder so I uninstalled that and repaired the damaged files. I'm not happy using sw that does this. Fast CD Ripper is great. I've realised that there is a limitation in the freedb and cddb services that won't allow different artists for tracks within an album. This is a bit of a pain! I've written a macro that can obtain the correct text from a given cd on freedb and convert this into a table of track and artist. I now need some software that will allow me to take this table and paste it into the front end GUI, hit update and the ID3 tags are altered. Does anyone have any suggestions? : Hey... : Give these programs a shot... : OSS CD Ripper and ID3V2 Tag Editor. : Fast CD Ripper 1.5. : : I'm looking for some software that will allow me to enter the ID3 info looked up from a CDDB in a decent manner.
: : I rip a lot of compilations and I want the artist field to be correct for all the various artists on any one cd. I'm amazed that all rippers don't do this. : : I'd also like to be able to specify the mp3 file name as only the track name (not the artist as well) and to be able to rip them into a folder by the album name. : : The other thing that gets on my nerves is the track number being labelled 1,2,3... rather than 01,02,03... : : Thanks in advance for your help and sw suggestions.
