: I have some MP3 files that do not play in winamp. They do however play in Media Player and also on my portable MP3 CD-Player. : Sounds familiar to anyone? First make sure they are actaully Mp3's and not some other file type (.wav) do this by right clicking on the file in question and checking the extension. (It should say .Mp3) If it is not an MP3 go to your preferences in winamp and click under media, then check all of the file types you want to be associated with winamp. Then to be doubly sure it doesn't happen again disable this feature in the player that opens the file now. For example if Windows Media player currently handles this file and it is say a .wav file...disable it and any other file extensions you don't want associated with Win Player... If you are having this problem with REAL Player I would suggest completely disabling it and avoiding using REAL if possible. Hope that helps.
