You are burning these files as a data-CD, correct? This more or less causes the CD to be played as an MP3-CD, which happens to make the audio actually play, since MPEG audio is in MP2 format, which should be compatible with most MP3 decoders.


... In any case, the way to burn your MPEG's to actually be played as a VCD is to burn as a VCD in a recent version of Nero or EasyCD.
