mp3 file being read as 6?
Posted by Dmoney9999 on February 27, 2003 at 13:49:30:

hmm. Created a data CD-R, burned an mp3 to it, and my car stereo (which claims to read mp3) translates the song into 6 files!

'Track 1' will play for about a minute, then pause, 'Track 2' starts, and the song continues, repeating through six tracks. Obviously this is annoying.

The burner I use, including the software, is old HP stuff. I think the max write speed is is 4X maybe even 2X.

questions:

where is the problem occurring?
- CD-R: should I match the CD-R speed with the write speed?
- software?
- bad rips/mp3? Could small glitches/pops in the mp3 signify to the car player the end of file, and therefore creating a new 'Track' at each imperfction in the mp3?

Thanks, Darren
